CROFT'S PUPPY SCHOOL
Do you have a puppy younger than 18 weeks old? Do you want a well behaved dog that respects you and understands your commands?
We are pleased to announce that dog behaviourist JENNY ADAMS of POSITIVELY PETS will now be running our puppy school.
The puppy school is held on Thursday nights at the Hospital in Cramlington.
To build on the current popularity and demand for our Puppy School we have now extended the course to 6 weeks.
The course will cover:
WEEK 1 Settling puppies in :- Socialising and demonstrations of clicker training,sit,down,stand and pay attention. Question and Answer with Croft Vet.
WEEK 2 Recall and Greeting :- teaching polite greetings,sit to greet, introduction to recall and training positions (sit,down and stand)
WEEK 3 Recall Part 2 :- release to play,catch out of play,puppycheck/handling and swap puppies for sit and greet
WEEK 4 Lead walking :- training for leave it,training lead walking and heel with lure.
WEEK 5 Lead walking Part 2 :- training positions,improving down,heel with lure and heel with loose lead.
WEEK 6 Graduation :- putting it all together, tour of hospital and graduation party (lucky dip,puppy agility,doggy dancing,speedy recall etc)
Every week please bring:
Your puppy - Wearing a plain flat collar, with cloth or leather lead (no chain collars, chain leads or Flexi leads please). Everybody is welcome to attend the classes with your puppy.
Small, tasty tidbits - These should be small so your puppy does not become full too quickly – pieces about the size of your dog's toe pad are best.
Toys - Some puppies work harder for a game with a toy than for food. Bring your puppy’s favourite toy so that you can use it to attract his attention if you need to. Soft toys that can be bitten and tugged are best. Please avoid squeaky toys and toys that roll as these can cause a distraction for other puppies.

Please bring your puppy’s vaccination certificate to the first week.
